"Continuing education is a cornerstone of our office philosophy. Our team members are driven by our shared goal of providing all our patients with the highest level of care, compassion and gentle treatment. In our office we do not work on teeth; we work with people who have teeth. There is difference in our focus and it shows in our level of patient care."

"In our office we offer the respect you deserve along with the commitment to deliver quality care performed with the best of our abilities. Our aim is to be thorough, yet provide comfortable care in a positive atmosphere that emphasizes the value of good dental health and its connection to good overall health. The focus of our team is on you. Do not ever

hesitate to ask a question or make a request, as you are the reason we are here. We offer a comfortable environment and quality services with a personal touch. Most of our patients consider our staff to be friends because they are treated as such."

"In my spare time I enjoy the great outdoors. Landscaping, boating and waterskiing are my summer passions. I also enjoy a good football game. The Michigan Wolverines and Green Bay Packers are my two favorite teams.  We have six rescue cats that are our babies and they love to curl up with me and enjoy a good movie, or reading a good book. " ~  Brian

Top Dentist in Grand Rapids 2021, 2022 and 2023

Dr. Brian Nylaan tells his patients, “I don’t work on teeth; I work with people who have teeth.” It’s his way of building relationships and conveying how critical dentistry is to people’s well-being. When seeing patients, he approaches the whole person, taking time to talk and educate them on what they need to do to take care of themselves and their smiles – and why it benefits them. “Dentistry is incredibly important for overall health and shouldn’t be viewed as optional,” Dr Nylaan says. “It should be a requirement for living a good, healthy life.”

In practice for more than 30 years, and recently achieving lifetime memberships in the Michigan Dental Association and American Dental Association, Dr. Nylaan has seen and implemented many advancements in the dental field. They include diagnostic technologies such as 3D CT x-rays, and laser dentistry. He is also passionate about sleep and is aware of the ways that poor sleep can affect health. “We’re not talking about prevention of snoring,” Dr. Nylaan says. “Research has shown a strong tie between poor sleep and a higher likelihood of heart attack, stroke, high blood pressure, diabetes, and acid reflux. Lack of sleep affects children and adults alike, and we need to take it seriously.” Dentistry is oral medicine, and we have the training to improve many different areas of your total body health.

“My goal is to help people recognize when they have a need and provide treatment options to improve the quality of life.” He says, “It starts when you listen to your patient.”

Since Dr. Brian loves books we have added a little lending library to our office landscape. Stop by and borrow, or loan a fellow reader a book. Our little library is right under the flag pole in front of our office.
