Why Dental Implants?

A dental implant is a tooth replacement solution that can naturally fuse with your living tissue and bone. It is the only option that replaces missing tooth roots, providing your jawbone with essential stimulation to remain healthy. This helps restore function, such as chewing and articulation.

Process for A Dental Implant Surgery

The steps of an implant procedure may differ from one patient to another. The condition of your oral health, your jawbone strength, and the type of implant you need are all factors that determine the length and steps of the process.

Step 1: Treatment Plan

If you qualify for implants, Dr. Nylaan will discuss your options and how many implants you need.

Our team then extracts the damaged tooth that requires replacement. If your tooth is already missing, you will skip this step.

If your oral health is in perfect condition to support an implant, you will skip this step. If your jawbone lacks the needed bone density, our oral surgeon will need to perform a bone graft procedure. If your gums need treatment, we will deliver all necessary treatments to ensure your gums are in excellent condition before proceeding with implant placement.

Once your jawbone is ready, the process starts by inserting the implant post into the jaw.

After inserting posts, Dr. Nylaan will give you resting time to allow your jaw to heal beautifully. We then affix the abutment to the implant post. This abutment securely connects your new artificial tooth to the implant post.

The last step of the process is when Dr. Nylaan places your natural-looking restoration for you.

Restoration Options That an Implant Can Support

A Crown: If you have one missing or severely damaged tooth, you only need a single implant and crown to replace the tooth and its roots. The new crown provides you with a functional tooth that helps to maintain your jawbone health.

Fixed Bridges: Unlike traditional bridges, implant-supported bridges do not put any pressure on your healthy adjacent teeth or rely on them for support. They can easily replace two to three missing teeth in a row.

Fixed Dentures: To replace all the teeth in your upper or lower arch, we can use between six to eight implants. Fixed dentures do not shift or slip out of place, presenting an excellent option for replacing teeth.

All-on-4® Dental Implants for Full Mouth Restoration: The All-on-4 dental implant system is the latest technology in dental implants. It requires only four implants to replace an entire arch of teeth. No matter if it is the top or bottom arch of your smile, this system saves you from needing an implant for every single missing tooth. It is very durable and provides a much faster process.

Who Can Get Dental Implants?

If your jawbone doesn’t have sufficient strength, we can help! Our oral surgeon provides necessary pretreatment procedures such as bone grafting to help increase the likelihood for successful implant treatment.

How Much Does Dental Implant Treatment Cost?

Costs of this treatment typically varies from one patient to another. Your cost depends on the following factors:

  • The need for extractions
  • The need for bone grafting
  • Number of implants needed
  • The type of restoration used
  • Where implant placement is needed
  • Level of treatment complexity
