Brian S. Nylaan, D.D.S.

Brian S. Nylaan, D.D.S. received his Associates Degree of Arts and Science from   the Grand Rapids Community College, Bachelor of Arts and Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Michigan. He is a member of the Michigan Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, West Michigan Dental Society, and American Dental Association. He is also certified as an Invisalign provider.

Continuing education is a cornerstone of our office philosophy.

In our office we offer the respect you deserve along with the commitment to deliver quality care performed with the best of our abilities. Our aim is to be thorough, yet provide comfortable care in a positive atmosphere that emphasizes the value of good dental health. The focus of my team is on you. Do not ever hesitate to ask a question or make a request, as you are the reason we are here. We offer a comfortable environment and quality services with a personal touch. Kris received her Associates Degree in Arts & Science from the Grand Rapids Community College. She received her Registered Dental Assistant certification from the State of Michigan and is a Certified Dental Assistant through the National Board.

"I enjoy meeting all of our patients and assisting them in meeting their goal of obtaining and maintaining optimal dental health. If you ever have any questions regarding your dental health, appointments, obligations or recommended treatment I am more than happy to be of assistance."

"When not in the office I enjoy spending time in our garden, reading a book, hanging out with our cats, or beading some form of jewelry. We spend a lot of time in the summer boating or skiing in Spring Lake and enjoying the natural beauty that Michigan has to offer." ~ Kris

 


 

 

Val

Registered Dental Hygienist

Val takes her profession very seriously and is currently the President for the Grand Rapids Dental Hygiene Society.

Val received her Associates degree in Arts & Science from the Grand Rapids Community College. She has received her Nitrous Oxide Sedation license, Anesthesia certification, and is certified as a Registered Dental Hygienist through the State of Michigan.

"I love being a dental hygienist because it gives me an opportunity to help patients and see results. Helping patients maintain good oral health care can allow them to have overall total health. It is important also to have discussion and use technology and tools to help patients achieve their goals of a healthy smile. At your appointment, I want to hear what goals you have for your smile and how we can work together to help you attain those goals. I especially want to help patients control chronic periodontal / gum disease."

"I love Zumba, it has given me a healthier happier life. Physical fitness has recently become more important in my life because I realize I have only this body to live in and I need to take better care of it. Hobbies also help me relax. I enjoy knitting and reading a good book, or sometimes doing crafty things with my sewing machine. My husband and I have been married five years. Dana received her Associates degree in Arts & Science from Ferris State University and is certified as a Registered Dental Hygienist through the State of Michigan.

"I enjoy the daily challenges involved in the dental field and strive to provide the most comprehensive care and patient education. "

"Dental Hygiene is my passion. My love is for my family. I am a wife, and mother of two very energetic children, Kaiya,3 and Liam, 14 months. They keep me busy on the days I am not in RDH mode! Shauna takes her profession very seriously and is currently serves with Val as Board Member at Large for the Grand Rapids Dental Hygiene Society.

Shauna received her Associates degree in Arts & Science from the Grand Rapids Community College. She has received her Nitrous Oxide Sedation license, Anesthesia certification, and is certified as a Registered Dental Hygienist through the State of Michigan.

"I love to educate my patients and build relationships, so you can understand the need for your continuing care and be more comfortable during each visit."

"Outside of dental hygiene, music is a huge passion of mine. Nothing is more relaxing than sitting at a piano and playing and singing a song. My husband Kyle and I have been married for five years, and he is very into music as well. It is something we both love and can do together. Olivia received her Dental Assistant certification and Radiation Health and Safety certification from the Everest Institute.

"I've been working for Dr. Nylaan for 3 years. I started as a patient and that is when I knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I am here to answer any questions or concerns you might have and to make your visit as comfortable and enjoyable as possible."

"Outside of the fulfillment of working at my dream job I enjoy canoeing, camping, and spending my time at our cabin 'Up North'. I've been on a bowling league for 7 years and on my off season I love spending time with my minature pinscher Jose'! Julie received her certificate of Dental Assistant and Radiation Health and Safety from the Olympia Career Technical Institute.

"I have been a dental assistant for Brian 16 years. It is always interesting being that every patient is different. Dental assisting is fun and sometimes challenging. Each day brings patients that I love to see and procedures that I love doing. Our team is exceptional at making everyone feel welcome and comfortable. A healthy mouth is what we want for everyone and we work hard at providing just that."

"I love spending time my husband and son. We spend a lot of time watching our son play baseball, basketball and soccer. As a family we like to camp in the summer and take road trips all over Michigan. We also love to watch Whitecaps and Tigers baseball and visit different amusement parks. "I've worked with Dr. Nylaan for more than two years and I love it! I enjoy being able to help you keep your smile healthy. Being able to get to know my patients is something I love having the opportunity to do. My priority is making sure that you are relaxed and as comfortable as possible throughout your dental visit. "

"In the summer I enjoy spending time outside playing yard games and swimming in the pool. Spending time with friends and family is something that is always fun. I love being able to pass the winter months skiing at different places in Michigan.
